Hello!
Welcome to my portfolio and blog site! Below, you'll find a link to my resume, and a brief explanation of who I am.
My Story
I cannot remember a point in my life when I wasn’t writing or engaging in something related to writing. As soon as five-year-old-me figured out how my parents’ computer worked, I was typing up my first “novels” and creating massive casts of characters. For a brief period in middle school, I volunteered in a library, organizing and checking out books for patrons (while providing any recommendations I could, of course). Later in high school, I took any creative writing classes and joined online communities to surround myself with fellow writers. Horror, poetry, history, and fantasy in particular hold a special place in my heart. It is a deeply fundamental element of who I am, and I have found joy in everything from creative writing to research to designing social media content.
In May 2024, I graduated with my B.A. in English from Millersville University, and was extremely involved in campus writing groups and literary journals. Back in 2020, I was elected as president for the Creative Writer’s Guild on campus, a student organization dedicated to helping fellow writers hone their craft. After a couple years, I stepped down to better focus on classes, but the new officers asked me to stay on the executive board as the treasurer, and I stayed in that role until my graduation. I learned so much about being a leader, writer, and teacher through my roles in the Guild, and interacted with a diverse range of authors, from hobbyists to published professionals. Later in August of 2023, I became an editor and secretary for the George Street Press, Millersville University’s literary and arts magazine, further strengthening my skills. During my final semester at Millersville, I interned with the Made in Millersville Journal as an editor and marketing specialist. Since the Journal accepts articles from all disciplines, I worked with authors researching Native American history, environmental sciences, media analysis, poetry, and art. The internship was genuinely one of my favorite experiences, as it lead me to learning about topics I may not have otherwise been exposed to, and helped me discover a passion for design and social media management.
Aside from my work as a marketing specialist and editor, some of my own creative writing has been published. In 2023, “Reef Sharks” won the Louis Darrel Sage Poetry Award and was published to www.poets.org by the Academy of American Poets. My short story “Grave Robber” was published by the George Street Press in May 2024.
I hope to continue working in the book industry, especially in editing, marketing, and libraries, as well as publishing more of my own work. In the future, I would like to return to school to earn my Masters in Library Sciences, and possibly a PhD later on.
